Officials said two traffic summonses were issued to the driver of a Newark airport employee shuttle bus that crashed into a concrete divider on a ramp to Terminal B, leaving more than a dozen injured early Friday.
The driver was cited for reckless driving and failure to maintain lane for failing to “use due caution when negotiating a lane change,” a Port Authority spokeswoman said. The bus traveled onto the inclined concrete road divider before the vehicle stopped on the level portion of the divider.
Nineteen airport employees were taken to either Trinitas Regional Medical Center or University Hospital, spokeswoman Cheryl Ann Albiez said. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.
Port Authority police cleared the scene by 9 a.m. and roads were reopened.
